The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine receives the delegation of the Sudanese Medical Specialization Board to discuss activating the Faculty Accreditation Committee.

Dr. Samaher Bashir, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Sarah Salah, Deputy Dean, received an official delegation from the Sudan Medical Specialization Board, led by Dr. Ibrahim Hamad Al-Neel, the Board’s representative at the faculty, as part of efforts to enhance the quality of medical education and elevate academic standards.

The meeting was held to discuss mechanisms for activating the faculty accreditation committee and to develop a roadmap that ensures compliance with the national academic accreditation standards adopted by the Board, which contributes to improving the outcomes of medical education and ensuring the competency of graduates in professional practice.

During the meeting, the two parties reviewed institutional and program accreditation requirements. Discussions addressed the importance of completing reference documents, developing educational policies, and implementing academic performance and sustainable quality indicators. The meeting also addressed ways to cooperate in the field of training and academic qualification for faculty members, enhancing the faculty’s readiness for the evaluation and accreditation process.

Dr. Samaher Abdullah commended the Sudanese Medical Board’s efforts in supporting educational and medical institutions, emphasizing the faculty’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality and accreditation, in line with the state’s vision to advance higher education and the healthcare sector.

For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Hamad Al-Nil expressed his appreciation for the progress being made by the university’s Faculty of Medicine, affirming the council’s readiness to provide the necessary technical and advisory support throughout all stages of accreditation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed to form joint working groups to monitor accreditation requirements and exchange expertise, thus enhancing the chances of obtaining full accreditation according to the specified timetable.
