The university launches a national initiative to support education in conflict-affected areas

El Sheikh Abdallah El-Badri University announced hosting one thousand students from the states of Darfur to take the Sudanese certificate exams, as part of a national initiative aimed at supporting education in conflict-affected areas.

This announcement was made during a press conference held by the university vice chancellor, Dr. Fania Abdullah Al-Badri, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Mr. Ahmed Hamid, and several university leaders.

Dr. Fania confirmed that the university, located in the city of Berber in the Nile River state, has mobilized all its capabilities to receive students and provided a suitable environment for taking exams, including accommodation, nutrition, and healthcare. She explained that this initiative comes as part of the university’s efforts to support educational stability in the country, especially in light of the challenges facing some areas due to conflicts.

On his part, the Minister of Education, Mr. Ahmed Hamed, appreciated this step, praising the role of the university in promoting national solidarity values and providing educational opportunities for affected students. He affirmed that the ministry will provide the necessary support to ensure the smooth conduct of exams, in coordination with the concerned authorities.

During his visit, the minister conducted a field tour that included the examination halls and dormitories. He reviewed the university’s readiness in terms of technical and logistical arrangements and ensured the availability of essential services that guarantee the comfort and safety of the students. He expressed his satisfaction with the seriousness and high level of preparedness demonstrated by the university administration and its staff.

This initiative is a model to be emulated in the cooperation between educational and governmental institutions to support students in affected areas, and it also reflects the university’s commitment to its national role in promoting education and stability in Sudan.
