The university launches a national initiative to support education in conflict-affected areas

In a pioneering step reflecting its national commitment, El Sheikh Abdallah Al-Badri University announced hosting 2,000 students from the Darfur states to take the Sudanese certificate exams, as part of an initiative aimed at supporting education in conflict-affected areas.

The announcement came during a press conference held by the university vice chancellor, Dr. Fania Abdullah Al-Badri, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Mr. Ahmed Hamid, and a number of university leaders.

Dr. Fania affirmed that the university, located in the city of Berber in the Nile River state, has mobilized all its capabilities to receive students, including accommodation, nutrition, and healthcare, in order to provide a suitable environment that enables them to take exams under stable and safe conditions. She explained that this initiative comes as part of the university’s efforts to support educational stability in Sudan, especially in light of the security and humanitarian challenges faced by some states.

For his part, the Minister of Education, Mr. Ahmed Hamed, praised this initiative, appreciating the university’s national role in promoting the values of solidarity and social cohesion, and providing fair educational opportunities for students affected by conflicts. He also affirmed that the ministry will provide full support to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

During his visit, the Minister toured the examination halls and dormitory facilities, where he reviewed the technical and logistical readiness and expressed his satisfaction with the level of organization and preparedness demonstrated by the university’s administration and staff.

This initiative embodies an exemplary example of cooperation between educational institutions and government agencies, and reflects El Sheikh Abdallah Al-Badri University’s commitment to its national role in supporting education and promoting stability in Sudan.
